God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit have been the center of their lives since they came to know Jesus.
Married in '73 , they embraced the Bible verse Joshua 14:15, “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” God continues to be their passion. And so, when God said “Go,” (& He did),they went! So at the age of 58 and 56 they went to language school for a year to learn how to speak Spanish (a process that continues to this day) - it's NEVER too late to ask God,"What is the race I'm supposed to be running?" We are ALL Selected --> Sent --> and then we have the opportunity to Surrender everything to Him ... again!
Les and Di are avid readers, studying Goid's Word and heroes of the faith. They also love to read adventures, science fiction and fantasy. Sprinkle all of those with biographies and you can see that they really do enjoy reading.
Worship has always been a central theme in their lives – after all, they'll be doing that for eternity!
Here are some favorite inspirational quotes!
“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.”
~ Jim Elliot
“I will not waste my life! I will finish my course and finish it well. I will display the Gospel of the grace of God in all I do. I will run my race to the end.”
It was becoming clearer and clearer that if I wanted to come to the end of my life and not say, “I’ve wasted it!” then I would need to press all the way in, and all the way up, to the ultimate purpose of God and join him in it. If my life was to have a single, all-satisfying, unifying passion, it would have to be God’s passion.”
~ John Piper (Don’t Waste Your Life)
Our verse - Psalm 71:17-18
Since my youth, God, you have taught me,
and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
Even when I am old and gray,
do not forsake me, my God,
till I declare your power to the next generation,
your mighty acts to all who are to come.
